Halima Makes History As First Model Wearing Hijab and Burkini in Sports Illustrated

🧕 Somali-American model Halima Aden will be on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s yearly magazine that comes out on May 8th. This makes her the first model to ever appear in the magazine wearing a hijab. This is a huge step when it comes to inclusivity, considering the image synonymous with Sports Illustrated. In the pictures released today, she is seen wearing 2 Burkinis. Here’s what the model told Huffington Post:
