Offshore wind farms can provide enough electricity to power the world

A new study of coastlines around the world has found that offshore windfarms can provide the world with more electricity than it needs. That means we don’t need any solar power, we could literally rely on wind turbines alone.

The study was conducted by the International Energy Agency (IEA) and found that the windfarms would need to be placed where waters are no deeper than 60 meters and no further than 37 miles off the coast. As long as those two numbers are met, enough electricity can be generated. Thanks to plummeting costs and new technology, offshore wind power will drive growth in clean energy worldwide.

Not only is clean energy beneficial for the earth, but it creates more jobs and business opportunities.
