Tiny home community for the homeless approved in San Jose

The San José city council approved two communities of tiny homes to be built as transitional housing for the homeless. Each community will have 40 cabins as well as communal showers. There are other tiny home communities around the US and advocates believe they are very helpful in easing the transition to permanent housing. The one year pilot program has been controversial in Silicon Valley. The $7 million contract will house over 300 individuals and will be overseen by Habitat for Humanity.
