Cornell’s medical school offering a full ride to students

This past Monday, Cornell University announced that all students at its medical school who qualify for financial aid will get all their costs covered. That doesn’t just apply to tuition, but also room and board, books and any other educational expenses.

There’s a growing trend of donors giving towards scholarships and financial assistance instead of new buildings like they once did. 52% of students at Weill Cornell Medicine qualify for financial aid. One single year of school costs over $90,000. The new gift of free school will start 2019-20 academic year. The program replaces student loans with scholarships.
