Apples new feature helps you be more mindful

​With the release of Apple’s latest two devices, the iPhone Xs and Xs Max, comes the release of the latest software update, iOS 12.

The most significant feature that comes with this update is called Screen Time. It’s in a new section found in settings that lets you get a detailed look at how you spend the time on your phone. You can see a breakdown of your daily usage and limit the amount of time spent on your phone and within specific apps by selecting how much time you want to spend within Instagram, for example. Once you reach that limit, you will see a screen that says “you’ve reached your time limit”

“Downtime” allows you to also block access to all apps between specific hours, if that’s what you want of course. (This is definitely helpful for parents looking to limit their children’s screen time). This new feature is designed to make you more conscious of the amount of time you spend on your phone.
